Finetta Super

The Finetta Super followed the early models two years after the line’s inception. It suffers from an identity crisis, having the body style of the IV D and the top cover of the later Finetta 88.

The lens assembly is still the 2.8/45, zone focusing and the same speeds as the IVB D. It has the Same front hugging back cover but with a gentle pressure plate. The top fascia is a mix, with the cover style similar to that was carried forward to the Finetta 88, but with winding knobs still taken from the IV series. The body is metal, the same as the following model.

The Finetta Super’s claim to fame is the hod accessory shoe, a fresh idea for the time. It had a dedicated flash gun, but due to the small quantity of the Super models made, I am not sure if any had survived.

As with the other Fintta models, excluding the 99 / Ditto, the camera is simple to use, with no fancy features or mystery controls. See the Finetta family page and the almost identical Finetta IV D for more.
